Monday May 5 @ 08:42pmYes! This interview is so relevant. Where Chris speaks about listening to albums as a whole and how music isn’t appreciated in it’s entirety anymore and what Dom says about listening to music PROPERLY speaks right to my heart.
I cannot emphasise enough that to really understand music, people should invest in a decent pair of speakers or even better, a decent pair of headphones. To those who listen to music through laptop speakers, docks or poundland earphones, you are missing out on so much!!!
I need to meet more proper music fans and have conversations like this… it’s what feeds my soul!

I think this is my absolute favourite performance of Bliss; Matt is so on form. His falsetto at the end has actually brought me to tears right now! The lyrics are so lovely; to see and to write about another person so highly is so honest and vulnerable. I love it.

This is Lauren Laverne describing Beyonce’s performance, and I hear what she is saying… if she was talking about Lady Gaga. Beyonce is an entertainer, and that’s is far as it goes. She does not write. She does not create. She is a singer who can dance. She is manufactured pop, and if her headline slot is a performance you martyr, you are very easily pleased.

Pop is fun and I’m a big good pop-fan, and sometimes pop is all you need or are looking for. I mean no disrespect to any particular genre, nor am I holding any genre on a pedestal. Forget genres all together, but as a music fan it is important to identify where credit is due.
